Why I'm Good

Why You suck
2/27/2022 • Remi Rainville

The Habs are on fire again and not in a dumpster kind of way.  After adding Pacioretty to the lineup Montreal went on a great winning streak.  Things were looking up until a series of losses to a series of mediocre western jokes left this team in a state of shock.  After a 3-2 loss to the lowly Kings, GM Rainville went into a state of near madness, even offering up young star Nick Suzuki for any kind of solution to his goaltending woes.  A full review of the team and it's performance had to be done.

Montreal currently sits #2 in shots for and shots against.  The shot differential is the league's best sitting at a whopping +436.  The Habs also draw the most penalties in the league and have elite talent in the faceoff circle.  The PP and PK are hovering around the top 10 and the team boasts victories over the league's elite including a recent victory over the Rangers where the shots were 34-17 in favor of Montreal.

When Rainville couldn't find a solution in net he decided to solve it through the blue line.  Damon Severson was brought in to play top four minutes and put Mete on the bench.  Mete is one of the team's top +/- guys.  His numbers are good but when he plays skilled, elite opposing players, he gets beat too easily and creates too many scoring chances for the opposition.  Since the arrival of Severson the Habs are 5-0 and Severson has five points including three goals.

As the deadline approaches, Montreal is in a tight position financially.  There isn't much wiggle room to add players but the recent performance suggests it may not be necessary.  Tonight, the Habs face off against the Kings for the first time since the loss that sent GM Rainville to near madness.  A crushing victory would go a long way to help sooth his fragile mind.
