Busy Deadline

The Leafs had a very busy deadline, completing several deals to help them going forward.  GM Fitzy said " We made these deals mainly due to the fact we had significant cap issues."  " Josi was a guy we didn't want to lose but his upcoming contract would put us behind the eight ball with limited flexibility."

Leaf managent was able to pull off a series of deals that has not comprimised its current season, having gone 10-3-1 in its last 14.   

GM Fitzy believes "We have signifantly bolstered the line up with Bertuzzi, Laugton and rookie Jackson LaCombe."  "We were able to move out some expiring contracts of Kyle Palmieri and Sam Lafferty."  GM Fitzy reiterates " our club is considered to be a top contender for now and in the future."  " Currently we are 6th in the league in Goals For, 10 in the league in Goals Against and 3rd in the league on the Power Play."  

It's hard to argue that the Leafs dug themselves out of a large hole with the salary cap and at the same time accumulate assets for the future.
