Depth, With A Lack Of Elite
A quick look at the organizational depth of the Utah Mammoth

The Cup has been handed out and the 2026 TUFHL Entry Draft is now in the books. Ever since the start of the offseason, leading up to and during the draft the GM of the Utah Mammoth Wes Mucyk has been very busy turning over the organization.
Utah this offseason decided and went full scorched earth rebuild. We're gonna take a quick look at the depth the organization currently has at each position.
Now before we get into it here, I think it should be pointed out that the team does own 4 first round draft picks in 2027, 2 of which could very well be lottery picks. 1 of them for sure.
These days around the hockey world when you talk depth, the Utah Mammoth are not a team that would come to anyone's mind. But here we are. We'll start in the crease. That's probably the strength of Utah at this time. They've got two young, pro goalies in Lukas Dostal and Arturs Silovs. Then down the pipeline they like Carter George. The organization however is really high on Sergei Murashov and Melvin Strahl who they recently acquired for the Seattle Kraken. At this years draft Utah added 2 more goalies to it's pool, both Czech, in Filip Ruzicka who is 6'8" was selected 82nd and Marek Sklenicka 6'4" taken 99th.
Next, working our way to center ice we stop at the blueline. Utah does not have any potential #1 Dmen. It did however add a top pair guy at the draft with the #5 pick Carson Carels. There's potentially a few really good big bodied shutdown guys, but still at least a couple years away from joining the Mammoth. The backend is surely to be a focus at the draft for this team over the next few years, as it needs to add some more top end talent.
The forward group has a lot of potential top 6 pieces, and some really good bottom 6 guys, but lacks a #1 center. Guys like Yegor Surin or Alexander Zharovsky could maybe slot into the 2nd line center spot. Roman Kantserov is a small RWer who the organization is very excited about. Him and Zharkovsky will be making their way to North America for training camp this season. Igor Chernyshov who was part of the return in GM Mucyk's first transaction in the role should see time up with the Mammoth during the 2026-2027 TUFHL season.
There are some really good pieces in place already and a lot of good pieces. Utah needs to bring in more top end elite pieces. Over the next few years the team will look to find that #1 center and Dman it badly craves.
