New GM in Chicago

Hard times ahead for the new boss in town
7/24/2022 • Marc B

A new area has begun in Chicago. And, it couldn't come a better time. Today, the team announced Marc B as their new GM. He brings with him a Stanley Cup from Arizona and and a plethora of patience.  Some fans welcome a rebuild while others want a winner now. But ownership wants to become a yearly contender. Message delivered now fans will need to respond accordingly and the team is fine with it.

The previous GM started a rebuild but abandoned that plan and left the organization.  "That's fine with me" said Marc B." We will evaluate and get a plan for the draft. I'm more interested in years 3 and onward than next season and will work with what is left" Free agency may be a challenge landing top players. "Maybe, we'll see. Either way, that should only be short term" the GM said in response.

There are a few bright spots on the Chicago roster namely Jesper Bratt, Brandon Hagel, Kirby Dach and Denis Gurianov. Jack Campbell is an effective starter but will need major help as the blueline talent must be the worse in the league.  "When ownership handed me the roster I looked at our D, I told them this isn't funny. No one laughed and then I knew this is going to be a challenge. A fun one but a challenge nonetheless. Let's go!"

Chicago will need patience. Hopefully,  that will pay off for the fans, team and the new GM.
