Jets rebuild

Year 2
4/27/2024 • Rob Michaud

Last year was the first year of my rebuild. We sold off many assets and acquired picks and youth. This year we sold off a few more and added more assets in the form of players. The biggest deal involved our first which will be pretty high, but we felt comfortable using it to acquire Kirby Dach. Dach has everything I would look for in a center. He is big, Has an excellent IQ, and moves around the ice very well. He will complement Cutter Gauthier as the one/two punch down the middle. To fill in the 3rd and 4th lines we have a few options in Beck, Svechkov, and Geekie.

They are all well on their way to fulfilling their potential. Dach brings the skill, skating, and size to be a power center in the league. Gauthier has a great shot and the IQ to drive offense. Beck is a faceoff wizard and brings a 200-foot game. Svechkov also brings a 200-foot game, and we will soon see what else he brings. Geekie is a big forward who plays hard.

We still expect a couple more years of pain as our new young core matures. The cupboards are very well rounded with many prospects at all positions. The pot is simmering on low right now but soon it will be time to turn the heat up to finish this chef's masterpiece..
