Goalie Ratings

7/11/2024 • Remi Rainville

Good evening and welcome back everyone for another exciting season of TUFHL.  I'd like to start off by congratulating Steve White and the Golden Knights for capturing the Stanley Cup.  It looks like we have a full compliment of GMs and a few new faces to join us on what will no doubt be another fun year.  The league has always been free but there are some fees associated with running the site so anybody who wishes to donate can do so by sending a transfer to Kirk at ao.8@live.ca

A new season brings us new ratings and this year the goalies are rated quite generously.  Therefore some adjustments have been made to the goalie pay structure for restricted free agent keepers.  In the rules, under the section titled "Free Agents", you will find the "Star Player Contracts".  The changes are as follows:

Goalies 28 and under that have an 83ov or above must be signed to a contract of $5 000 000.

3b) Goalies
79ov to 82ov = 3m per year
76ov to 78ov = 2m per year

So the changes are minor and reflect the new reality of this year's ratings.  We simply brought up the OV level for restricted free agent goaltenders so that we aren't all stuck paying huge salaries for back up goalies.  The rules are never set in stone so make sure to refresh your knowledge from time to time as we do make changes that we feel will improve the league.  We will of course do our best to keep you all notified when we make changes such as today.

Good luck to everyone this season.
