TUFHL Free Agency 2024-2025

Welcome everyone to this season’s free agent frenzy.  I know you have all been patiently waiting for the details of how the draft will operate.  So let’s get straight to it.  The bidding process will be the same as last year.

Every GM can bid on five free agents per round.

You can only submit one bid per player/round.  Highest bid wins outright.  No 2nd or 3rd rounds of bidding.  If you change your mind you can alter your offer as long as it is prior to the deadline.

There will be no bonuses.

In the event of a tie the player will sign with the team that finished lowest in the regular season last year.

This season, in order to simplify the process for all of you, our Cup Champion graciously offered to shoulder the burden of filtering through the offers.  This year all offers will be sent to stevenwhite@hotmail.ca

The email should contain all five of your bids.  So Steve should only receive 1 email per team per round.

Example – Nick Suzuki 4 years@ 8 million = 32 million TOS (total overall salary)

The highest total salary wins.  In this scenario Suzuki would turn down 3 years @10 million = 30 million TOS even though that makes no sense in real life.

We will run as many rounds of bidding as seems necessary.

Players 64 OV or less (bums) can continue to be signed at any time during the season.  These bums will have a maximum allowable contract of 1,999,999 per season.  This is the max salary permitted in the farm system and will stop teams from circumventing the cap system.

Maximum salary for a player 64OV or less is 1,999,999 per season.

Reminder:

Players making 2 million per season or more cannot be sent to the farm.

Max contract length is 4 years.

Max contract length for players 35 and older is 3 years.

Players that have retired or died that still have ratings for this season can only be offered a 1 year max contract. (Pavelski)

The salary cap floor is 65 million and the cap is 88 million.

Teams are aloowed to go over the cap by 10% (8.8 million) as long as they are cap compliant by the first pre season game.

The max salary a player can earn is 20% of the salary cap.

Players 69OV or less and goalies 74OV or less can be sent to the farm.

The first round closes Wednesday, Sep 4th at midnight Eastern time.
