The Arizona Coyotes have made a few trades recently, adding new members into their pack. The first trade sent a 5th round pick to San Jose for Joachim Blichfeld. Arizona GM Justin Stocks was quoted as saying "Blichfeld is someone we've had our eyes on for a while now. While he was a picked in the 7th round, we feel he has a chance to play in TUFHL with our club and will give him an opportunity to do so. We're excited that we were able to get a deal done before the regular season officially starts".
Arizona also picked up veteran defenseman Drew Doughty. "With Doughty, it was a mix of being able to pick up a large salary to help us stay above the cap floor as we make other players expendable, it was in preparation to the upcoming expansion draft, and it also gives another great defender that we can slot on the first or second pairing. Again, we are excited to have him as part of our team and look forward to what he is going to bring to our young players".
Lastly, the Coyotes traded away highly touted Evan Bouchard. "With the depth we have on D, we felt that moving him was the right thing to do for him and for our club. We had traded McMichael away earlier in the year, and when the opportunity presented itself to get him back, we had to take it".
"We wish all of our former players good luck this season with their new teams, and look forward to the future of this franchise".
