2023 season and the the draft.

In the off season the Nashville Predators took the approach that a full rebuild was needed and it resulted in several trades with all the vets moving out and picks and prospects coming back.  The team is now building up the prospect pool and with 16 picks in the 2023 draft, 2 of those in the first and 5 in the second the rebuild has been accelerated.

The team, if the playoffs are a goal next season will have to be really active in the off season.  What is still missing are the players with the right age group to move the team forward as there are no 1^st line forwards.  Sending out top prospects, so hard traded for, is not an option, so it may mean another year of not making the playoffs.

Sitting 31^st in the league it looks like the first pick will be a top 3, BUT the hockey gods are fickle so who knows where it will be.  The other 1^st rounder will be 29 – 32 so still should be a good pick.  If for some reason the Preds win the lottery a round of whisky will be bought for all.

The fans originally didn’t want to buy into a rebuild, it was felt that a retool was all that was needed but excitement is high in Nashville.  Ticket sales are high and there is a lot of request for the 2023/24 season tickets.
