At least we have Bedard

Shark Tank!
3/26/2024 • Vince Brzostowski

When the new GM took over this season, it was obvious it was going to be a long rebuild as he inherited without a doubt the worst roster in the league. The only positives were that Connor Bedard was sitting in the wings and should be ready to start next year. Another positive is that he should have a decent young teammate the following year after this year's tank job is complete and another high pick is choosen.

With a couple minor moves at the deadline, there was one big move where Brent Burns departed and Mackenzie Weegar made his way to San Jose. Weegar is showing he's a top pair guy who is going to be the backbone of the blueline for years to come.

Needless to say, it's going to be a long road to being competitive for this team and realistically its going to be a long term rebuild and a number seasons being at the back of the pack while the youngsters get their legs under them.
