Anaheim, CA - Althought the Ducks weren't expected to be contending for playoffs this year, here we are mid January and they are only 4 points out of a Wild Card spot.  When asked about his assessment, Coach Eakins pointed to the goaltending of Anthony Stolartz keeping them in thick of things.

Although a playoff spot is still uncertain, if they are to make a push, certainly the Ducks would need to add a few scoring pieces to the mix, as they have struggled at times to score goals.

All in all, the Ducks management as been pleasantly suprised with the progress, and look forward to some of the young talent coming up in the next few years.
