Things quiet on the Panthers front .

2/24/2025 • Derek Park

The Panthers started the year with mild expectations . With a young group of players and a few veterans mixed in the team was performing at a .500 rating . As time went on I added 2 Top 6 forwards and a Top pairing defenceman but instead of boosting the team , it still performed around .500 . I moved some good prospects and picks in which looking back on was a mistake considering one of the young players I moved is performing on the same level as the Vet I got in return . I also became short of debt a bit because in order to make the deals I did make I had to make sure the other team was above the Cap which has hurt my farm production . I have moved the lineup around but it didn't seem to matter much but I may try to mix the lineup again as I am not to far out of a playoff spot . I have Askarov waiting in the wings and next year he should have decent rating and wait for him to become a number 1 goalie , just have to be patient . As I said I am still in the race but I will not be moving any more youth to upgrade the team but I wouldn't be doing my job if I didn't listen to offers . I do have some Vets I could move at the deadline but that will determine the offer and the standings . The way it looks now is I may just stand Pat and hope some lineup changes can spark the team and add high end talent over the summer because my Cap is good and looking good with UFA's . Anyway , I am open to offers and will make moves if it makes sense for the team . If not there is always next year . Thanks and Later .
