NJ Devils Rebuild Progressing?

Some Good, Some Less Good
2/28/2025 • Alex Devils

NJ Devils had a horrific season last year and finished with the 1st overall draft pick, along with an absurd amount of top 50 draft picks. This season is more of the same from a standings perspective with NJ hovering around 4th and 5th worst in the TUFHL. A different story when it comes to draft picks as the Devils only have their own picks 1-3 and then some late round draft picks. The rebuild now comes from within.

Let’s take a look at the top future pieces and how they are developing/projecting:

While there seems to be enough to build a core roster for years to come, and adding another top 5 pick should help, it does seem to be some dwindling hype on some of these prospects acquired where they seem to be slipping from Franchise to Elite, or Elite to Above Average, etc. Time will tell if the GM is going to see any success with this model – it appears he will not change gears and shift away from the rebuild anytime soon.
