It didn't take long for new GM George Bachul to make noise in the TUFHL. Obviously there will be no major roster reconstruction by the new brass, but tweaking is definitely in order since the old GM Whasshisname left his post after being abducted by aliens.
"You don't arrive at a 1st place team and make huge moves. Disrupting the chemistry has to be protected against. That being said, to be competitive for the long term you need to look at your situation and make some minor moves that benefit you."
The Bruins traded away veteran player Calle Jarnkrok and a 3rd round pick in the entry draft for young centre Ryan McLeod.
"We are ecstatic. Calle has had some injury issues and is 33 years old. We will certainly miss his leadership, but to add a player that is much younger, can replace his penalty killing and has great speed and some offence, Ryan will be a staple for us for years to come. As well we gained some valuable cap space. And who doesn't love cap space."
When asked about other moves, rumours about veteran John Tavares swirled. "We have had talks about other players, nothing concrete but we still have some potential moves to make in the near future."
