EDMONTON - The Edmonton Oilers recently announced Chris Cameron as the new GM. This news broke shortly after Seattle left this position vacant. Cameron, born and raised in Atlantic Canada, is more than happy to make the trip out West for the role of the Oilers GM. Being part of a previous league - the BNFHL - for the past 6 years has the new GM feeling confident he has what it takes to have success in the TUFHL.
Cameron already met and had discussions with head coach Dave Tippett. Both Cameron and Tippett seem to be on the same page on which direction the Oilers will go.
A recent article has GM Chris Cameron quoted as saying "We have a good team here, however our main focus at this point is to resign UFA Roman Josi, as he will be a big part of the team moving forward. Some tough decisions will be made as we have some key players on expiring contracts and will be open to make some trades that best suit the team going forward."
This sounds like Fleury, Eberle, Chara or Couturier could be on the move? There was also word that team Captain Steven Stamkos is not going anywhere and will be a part of this organization for a long time.
