Derek Park

The Panthers owner has went in a New direction in the hiring of new GM Derek Park . Park has been around Leagues for over a dozen years with a couple championships to his credit and a couple heartbreaking loses in the Finals in which he has also had success in the Minors as well . The New GM was asked about his concerns of his New Team and Park had a couple to share . 1st  Is to clean up the logjam of players in the organization , players that have no significant importance to the actual team itself . 2 nd  Is the lack of high quality prospects in the system which will change under his tender . When asked about the shape of the Panthers he stated " I see a nice core here that with a few moves can become a contender as early as this year ".  Park also stated that " he is a very active GM and very aggressive in pursuit of something or someone he wishes to obtain as most GM's will find out . No disrepect  to other GM's , but this sounds like a GM to keep a eye on and a smart signing by the Florida Panthers owner .
