The Dallas Stars since the reset of the TUFHL have been a bottom 5 team in the league building their team through draft picks and youth. This past off-season GM Jake Friskney pulled the trigger on a draft day trade that sent the 2nd overall pick to New York for Matthew Barzal. This deal sparked a series of moves and signings by Dallas to help make this team competitive with the other teams in the division and conference in 2023-24.
The Stars are in a divisional spot with the trade deadline not to far in the future, and for the first time in years GM Friskney might be a buyer to help give his team some support.
The young players that the team has drafted the past few years, players like Kent Johnson, Logan Cooley, Matthew Knies, Cam York, Matthew Savoie are not quite ready to be the support needed for the team this season but are the good young core of players that Friskney wanted to set up so he could add the veteran presences around them to be a contender for years to come in the TUFHL.
