The Blue Jackets defeat the Ducks 2 to 1

On the last game of the California road trip, Columbus contines the winning ways with a big win over the Ducks.  Special teams played an important factor in the game, as Columbus had nine power plays, scored twice.  The Ducks also got their only goal on the power play.

Since being acquired in a trade, goaltender Akira Schmid has won 5 straight for the Blue Jackets.  The game prior to this most recent one against the Ducks, Schmid stole a win from the LA Kings in an amazing performance; stopping 47 of 49 shots in a 4-2 win.

Despite winning eight in row, the Blue Jackets have been unable to make up any ground in the hopes of getting a playoff spot.
