COLUMBUS LOSE EIGHT IN A ROW...

The Blue Jackets Continue to Struggle.
12/11/2023 • Randal V.

LAST GAME: 1-0 LOSS TO FLORIDA

Penalties continue to plague the Columbus Blue Jackets, luckily... last night, against the Florida Panthers, it did not end up in another embarrassing game.  The Panthers were given five power play opportunities to put a few more nails in the coffin; Columbus was able to hold them off that statistic.  Mats Zuccarello scored at 17:58 in the first period and that was the only goal in the game.  Columbus defensemen Travis 'Stick Em' Sanheim had three infractions involving his Bauer composite stick... 1) tripping, 2) high sticking and 3) hooking.  Surprisingly enough, he does not lead the team in penalty minutes, that honor belongs to Jake Middleton.

The Blues...

Prior to the Florida game last night, Columbus hosted the St. Louis Blues... The Blues were able to score 7 goals, chasing Thompson out and then shelling Kallgren.  The Blue Jackets actually out shot the Blues, but terrible defense and bone headed plays just handed over another game to the opposition.  Coach Tortorella has absolutely lost his mind... and rightfully so, there are no answers to why this team flicked a switch and forgot how to play hockey.

Columbus is off to Toronto for a single road game and then back home to face New Jersey at Nationwide Arena; I'm sure there are great seats still available.
