Five game losing streak

The hot and cold series of play for Columbus has been the story so far this season.  They string together 3-4 wins and lose four... rinse and repeat.  Right now, they sit on their worst losing streak, losing some tough games against Calgary, Montreal, Carolina, Tampa Bay and Boston.

Up next?  A road trip... starting in Chicago and swinging over Western Canada.

On the Bright side

Offense from defensemen is what is getting the job done, as the top two point getters are T. Sanheim (22GP-4G-15A) and Z. Werenski (22GP-4G-11A).  Veteran centre Jordan Staal leads the team in goals, with six.  Over the course of the season so far, the GM has tried to infuse some youth into the lineup with names like N. Nesterenko and M. Coronato, results on the ice have been mixed.  There are a few players that the GM would be willing to move, but they are not players of high interest... and have not been getting a lot of attention.
