St-Louis Prospects

Alook at the Blues future
1/21/2023 • Mario Saindon

In this edition of the "Blues Weekly", we'll be looking at the future of the St-Louis Blues organisation.  The famous "Prospect List".

This year St-Louis only had 2 players appearing in at the World Junior Championship.  One of them won gold with Canda and the other won bronze with team USA.  So we'll start our list with these 2 players.

Ethan Del Mastro, Defenceman 20 years old.

Slated as a shut down defenceman.  But likes to lead the rush out of the zone with his OHL team.  At the World Juniors he had 3 assists in a shut down role for the gold winning Canadian team.  This year with the Steelheads and the Sting in the OHL, Del Mastro has 24points in 26 games.

Kenny Connors,  Center 19 years old.

Seen as a two-way forward, Connors had 2 goals in seven games for the bronze medal American team at the World Juniors.  This year is Connors first year with the UMass-Amherst, he has 19 points in 20 games.

Corson Ceulemans,  Defenceman 19 years old.

Ceulemans is an offensive defenceman, but has to learn more about when to join the rush and when to hold is position in the "D" zone.  In his second year with the University of Wisconsin, Corson has 14 points in 20 games.

Denton Mateychuck,  Defenceman 18 years old.

Mobile two-way defenceman with good puck moving ability.  Slated to be a top four defenceman in TUFHL.  Denton has been with the Moose Jaw Warriors for the last 3 seasons.  This year he has 45 points in 40 games played with a +20.

Micheal Benning, Defenceman 21 years old.

Offensive Defenceman.  Now in his third year with the University of Denver.  Benning has 23 points in 25 games this season with a +14.

Joaquim Lemay, Defenceman 20 years old.

This is Lemay's first year with the University of Nebraska-Omaha.  He's still adjusting to the University level.  Not a flashy player but still has 8 points in 19 games

Tristan Luneau, Defenceman 19 years old.

Luneau is now in his third year with the Gatineau Olympiques in the "Q".  Last year he had 43 points in 63 games.  This year Luneau has 43 points in only 41 games.

The Blues are under performing this year. Hopefully these prospects will reach TUFHL sooner than later to help the franchise.

The Blues also have a pick in each round of this year's draft.
