A little playoff insights....

final couple days means alot in the TUFHL
4/14/2024 • Randy Blake

The TUFHL season is winding down, all 8 teams in each conference have secured a playoff birth, now some are jockying for position, the top of each conference is pretty tight on both sides, with the Eastern coming down the final couple games as Tampa Bay, Boston and Toronto all fight for the conference title with 2 games remaining.

On the East side the Wild Card spots are locked up by the Sabres and Panthers with one game to go, just to be decided is who which team each will face in round 1 round the playoffs, there isn't very many points separating the Sabres with whoever they will face in the first round but looks like it will be one of Tampa Bay, Boston or Toronto as the top 3 teams in the Atlantic are a few points ahead of their counter parts in the Metropolitan, The Panthers are also waiting to see who they will face but its down to two teams the Hurricanes or the Capitals.

The Western conference is no different as Vegas fights to keep the top slot with the Flames right on their ass and the Kings not far behind also with 2 games remaining.

The Western Wild Card position not so locked up yet as it will come down to the final games as the Oilers can still jump up a little higher as they have 3 games remaining and could still catch the Kings for 3rd in the division which would drop the Kings to a Wild Card spot, but thats a big IF, as the Kings would need to lose their final two games and not go to OT/SO and the Oilers would need to win their final 3 games.

For the rest of the West, much is still to be decided in the final few games, i believe everyone will want to step up their game prior to entering the playoffs

Of note a couple of Western conference teams at the top, decided to wait till the last week of the season to worry about their #1 goalies playing to many minutes, will this come back to bite them in the @$$????
