New GM in Carolina

Welcome Rob Woods
9/26/2022 • Rob Woods

In a surprising turn of events Hurricanes ownership has brought in a relatively unknown face to run the team. GM Woods has been around fantasy hockey for the past 30 years. He brings with him a wealth of experience, not to mention half a dozen championships across several different leagues. It's his time to shine in the bigs now. He's taking on a team of veterans poised to take home another championship. "I really like the make up of this team" said Woods, when asked what moves he's looking at before the start of the season. "I like to take my time and properly evaluate the roster before making any moves".

It's rumored that he was heard stressing about the Goalie position. Forsberg isn't exactly a top tier starter and it wouldn't be a surprise to see GM Woods look to bolster that position sooner than later. He also looked concerned about the right side, both up front and on the backend. It's also rumored that aging vetern Evgeny Malkin may be available in a deal to help strengthen another position.

"We are in win now mode and are willing to spend to get over the hump, if needed".  Look for Carolina to make a big push in the playoffs this year with Woods at the helm.
